It's by far the biggest decision of the 2026 MLB trade deadline: Do the Detroit Tigers -- at 51-58 and six games out of first in the AL Central as of writing this -- keep ace Tarik Skubal for a possible playoff run or should they deal him given that free agency is looming and they could lose him for nothing?
We have a reported answer from ESPN's Jeff Passan on SportsCenter after Skubal may have made his last start in a Tigers uniform on Wednesday: Yup, it's happening.
"Yeah, Tarik Skubal is going to be traded," he said. "The Tigers haven't gone to teams that are interested in him and said as much at this point, but the expectation is that's going to happen in the next day or two."
He cited the fact that the Tigers haven't played so well as of late
