The football world was horrified on Sunday when Falcons rookie linebacker Kendal Daniels left Atlanta's Week 6 game against the Bears on a stretcher.
But come Monday, the news from Daniels' condition couldn't have been more encouraging when you consider how serious the injury looked in the moment.
Daniels went down after he took a knee the head from Bears tight end Colston Loveland on a tackle. Emergency medical personnel responded to the injury and had to cut Daniels' jersey and place him in a neck brace. He was transported to a hospital, but evidently he didn't stay for long.
Falcons head coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters on Monday:
"All positive news on Kendal Daniels. He's here, back in the building today. He got back from the hospital to the locker
room last evening after the game, which I think you guys may have saw. Feel very very fortunate that he got the treatment he got, but also that we feel really good about where he is."
Daniels was even back in the locker room before postgame media availability ended.
Kendal Daniels walked into the Falcons’ locker room about five minutes ago. He’s back in the building.
