The newest addition to the MCU is hitting the ground running. After her debut in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, for a role in which she largely earned rave reviews, Sadie Sink recently discussed what lies ahead in the Marvel universe, while also addressing one of the popular rumors circulating around a highly anticipated X-Men reboot.
As a warning, there are comments below this point that could be considered spoilers for Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Sink's performance in Spider-Man: Brand New Day welcomed a new face into the Marvel universe (again), and there are big plans for her future in the MCU as Jean Grey. While fans have seen Grey as a character twice before, Sink is the newest name to take on the task, and she's hit the ground running.
While
speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Sink admitted that she knows when filming for the new X-Men movie will begin. She also added that she hasn't seen a script yet, but she didn't reveal much about the film, which is slated for release in 2028.
"I know when that’s happening, which is good," Sink said. "It reminds me of Stranger Things, too, of knowing that you have to do another season, but not knowing what the plan is or not having scripts yet, but having general ideas of where it’s going. So I think it’s a formula that I’m very used to."
Knowing when filming gets underway is a good sign, at the very least, as many X-Men and Marvel fans are anxiously awaiting news on a specific release date for the movie. She also went one step further to discuss a popular rumor circulating about the casting of a co-star.
Sadie Sink discusses rumors of Kit Connor playing Cyclops
The casting of the X-Men reboot has been a hot-button debate on social media, and the latest rumors have cited that Marvel is targeting Kit Connor to play Cyclops, as Deadline first reported. While the casting hasn't been confirmed, Sink admitted that she knows "what's true" and addressed the rumors during her interview.
"There’s so many rumors online, but overall, it’s been exciting to see, even if you don’t know what’s true or not, just how much intrigue there is and how much buzz about the movie," Sink said. "I know what’s true. And also, just the overall excitement about what’s to come is super positive."
