In their quest for a repeat, the reigning Super Bowl champion Seahawks stumbled in Week 3. In a tough one-score tilt, Seattle lost to the Washington Commanders, who were led by backup quarterback Marcus Mariota. Unfortunately for the Seahawks, that's not the only thing they lost in roughly the last week.
First-round running back Jadarian Price, who had a nagging chest injury, aggravated it during Seahawks practice earlier this week. In response, the Seahawks placed Price on injured reserve (IR). A stint on IR will let Price fully heal his injury. However, it will also sideline him for a minimum of four weeks, which is a big midseason blow to a Seattle offense already without the top two running backs on its depth chart: Price and Zach Charbonnet.

With Price getting placed on IR in early October, that means the earliest we'll see him is in early November. If we want to get more technical, his most likely return game to the Seahawks' lineup will probably be in a Monday night matchup against the Chicago Bears on Monday, November 2nd. That's a pretty long wait without a prototypical bell cow back. We'll have to see how the Seahawks survive without Price in the meantime.
Who is Jadarian Price's backup on the Seahawks?
Emanuel Wilson is expected to fill in as Seattle's starting running back with both Price and Charbonnet out. Wilson is in his fourth NFL season, his first with the Seahawks, after being undrafted in 2023.
