Hoo boy. The upcoming Madden movie that's skipping theaters and heading straight to Prime Video has already been revealed in the trailer. But we haven't seen an extended scene of Nicolas Cage as John Madden... until now.
And fans are all comparing it to a Saturday Night Live sketch. It's Cage as Madden, using a telestrator before it was electronic, scribbling on a clear pane of glass and confusing the heck out of everyone from viewers to the production truck. Cage's voice seems to be the thing that has everyone stuck (lots of Jimmy Stewart imitation observations), but there's so much more to take in here.

And football commentary was never the same. #MaddenMovie. November 18.

He sounds like 10% Jimmy Stewart, 90% Nicolas Cage.

0% Madden.
I mean this is basically a desecration of Madden’s legacy. Astoundingly bad.

Nicolas Cage sounds like John Madden as Jimmy Stewart as George Bailey. pic.twitter.com/EpGN6VjuPm

I was wondering how Nicolas Cage was going to pull off being Madden.

This is going to be a shame. https://t.co/LNtfP2BDIQ
