Most who follow the NFL understand that the Detroit Lions' offensive line is built around the exploits of perennial All-Pro offensive tackle Penei Sewell. Most who follow the NFL also understand that the talented Lions roster has been ravaged by injuries in recent years.
Unfortunately, just one week into the season and ahead of a Thursday night matchup with the Buffalo Bills, said injury issues are already plaguing the Lions' offensive line.
The Lions entered Week 1's win over the New Orleans Saints without starting center Cade Mays, who broke his wrist during training camp in August. (Note: Mays is on injured reserve and will not return until October, at the earliest.) They left without starting left guard Christian Mahogany, who hurt his hip
during the victory, and without starting rookie right tackle Blake Miller, who will miss his first football game in three years because of a knee issue that flared up.
For you math majors out there, that is now three preseason offensive line starters already out with an injury for the Lions, and we're only in mid-September. Woof.
Here's the Lions' projected offensive line for their matchup against the Bills on Thursday.
What is the Lions' starting offensive line on Thursday night?
