Sunday's Week 4 slate wasn't exactly a banner day for NFL officiating with two separate instances of refs having verbal confrontations with players.
Come Monday, those officials received their punishments from the league. And it was clear that the NFL wouldn't tolerate that kind of conduct from its officiating roster.
During Sunday's Giants-Cardinals game at MetLife Stadium, side judge Jeff Seeman — a 20-year officiating vet — was spotted shouting expletives at Cardinals tight end Trey McBride. This came just minutes after referee Adrian Hill oddly shouted at Vikings linebacker Eric Wilson following an accidental collision.

In Wilson's case, he was even trying to help Hill to his feet and was met with hostility. The NFLPA wanted both incidents investigated and for the league to hold the refs to the same standard as players.
On Monday, the league did just that. Seeman was hit with a two-game suspension, and Hill would be suspended for one game.
The NFL confirmed today that line judge Jeff Seeman has been suspended for two games and referee Adrian Hill has been suspended for one game, each for an instance of unprofessional conduct toward a player in Sunday’s Arizona-New York Giants (Seeman) and Miami-Minnesota games…
