The Denver Broncos are a formidable 5-2, but the thing they could least afford is any major injuries to their, at best, middling offense. Unfortunately for Denver, they will deal with a notable absence as they play for first place in the AFC West against the Kansas City Chiefs at home on Sunday.
Standout Denver running back RJ Harvey has been placed on injured reserve, which means he will miss at least the next four games after suffering a knee injury during the past week of practice. It is unclear what sort of knee injury Harvey has. But the mere fact that he has to miss roughly a month of action is concerning as the Broncos try to establish more of a healthier, balanced, and sound offensive rhythm for the stretch run of this season.

Of course, Harvey may only wind up missing three games because the Broncos have their bye in Week 10. That's good news. The bad news is that he will still miss the home game against the Chiefs, a road game against the Carolina Panthers, and a home matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders after the bye. Harvey has 25 receptions for 217 yards and a touchdown, and six carries for 24 rushing yards and a touchdown. He is also an occasional kick returner for the Broncos.
