Move aside, Matt Damon in The Odyssey. Sorry, Tom Cruise in Digger. There's a new lead in the Oscar race for Best Actor next year. And his name is Nicolas Cage.
The trailer for Madden -- coming to a streamer, not a theater, near you -- just dropped on Thursday, and it's a doozy: There's Cage in some serious makeup and maybe a body suit as John Madden, and when he opens his mouth? There's a bit of Madden in his voice, but it's not a full on impersonation (and who, really, besides Frank Caliendo, can do that?).
But the mannerisms? The intensity? The lines he gets to spout like "Dr. Dre? Was it really a doctor in the band?" while talking to Christian Bale as late Raiders owner Al Davis? GIVE THAT MAN AN OSCAR!
