The Joe Buck-Troy Aikman broadcasting team feels destined to split after the 2026-27 NFL season, this week's latest installment of Monday Night Football in Philadelphia a further reminder as to why.
After contract controversies reportedly led to a major rift between the longtime boothmates, an icy Aikman seemingly going through the motions on Monday night with Buck in this awkward segment hints that the former is not thrilled right now to be doing all of this.
Aikman is a pro's pro, but even he's struggling right now to mask his emotions. Even he's openly admitting he might call it quits as a broadcaster after this season with his ESPN exit appearing likelier by the day.

This is really sad to see. Buck and Aikman made for one of the best broadcast teams on television for any sport. However, it seems like just a matter of time at this point for them to go their separate ways.
When would be their last assignment together?
February's Super Bowl, which will air on ESPN.
