Legendary New England Patriots player Rob Gronkowski didn't get asked if somebody else could wear his hallowed No. 87.
The future NFL Hall of Famer and all-time NFL tight end told Kay Adams that the team didn't check in with him before giving the number to wide receiver Romeo Doubs.
We're a bit taken aback how this could happen, being that, outside of Tom Brady, there isn't a more iconic Patriots player in the last 15-plus years than Gronk. How do you not at least check in first?
While we doubt this changes Doubs having the number, it's still wild that this is even a thing for New England.

Bummer for Gronk. He should have a statue outside of Gillette Stadium of him mid-Gronk Spike.
When is Gronkowski eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame?
He will be eligible for the class of 2027.
