Week 2 of the 2026 NFL season concludes with a fascinating cross-country NFC showdown between teams that surprised us for opposite reasons in Week 1.
The Los Angeles Rams (0-1) were lifeless in their 27-7 loss to division rival San Francisco in Melbourne, and now face a Week 2 challenge that looks much tougher than it did before the season started against the New York Giants (1-0). New York is coming off a primetime divisional win over Dallas in John Harbaugh's debut last Sunday night, and it's now looking for another nationally televised upset win.

The Rams' offense was fairly alarming in Week
1 as Matt Stafford threw for just 155 yards with no touchdowns and an interception. They did run the ball fairly efficiently but weren't able to stick to it in the second half as the 49ers pulled away.
They'll hope for a different result this time around, but they'll have to do it against a Giants defense that held the Cowboys to just 244 yards in Week 1. Given how strong Jaxson Dart, Cam Skattebo and the New York offense looked in that game and Los Angeles' defensive struggles in Week 1, this could pose another major challenge.
Aaron Donald's return from retirement should help, and he's expected to make his season debut on Monday night. Receiver Puka Nacua, however, is questionable for the Rams, which could make things even tougher for the passing game.
I think the Rams bouncing back with a win is the likeliest outcome, but this is too many points after watching both these teams play in Week 1.
