The Baltimore Ravens face quite a bit of uncertainty at the quarterback position amid a short week ahead of a Thursday Night Football matchup against the AFC-contending Jacksonville Jaguars.
Lamar Jackson was placed on the injured reserve after suffering a thumb injury on his throwing hand during Sunday's 36-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills. Backup Tyler Huntley also exited that game with a reported potential turf-toe injury, leaving his status on Thursday night in question as well.
Undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano from UConn finished the game on Sunday, and if Huntley is unable to go, he'll likely get the start against Jacksonville. However, Baltimore is shoring up its depth at the position with an addition this week.
The Ravens have signed former Bears
quarterback Austin Reed to its practice squad. Reed went undrafted in 2024 and spent this past spring with the Dallas Renegades in the UFL, leading the league in passing touchdowns. He spent the 2024 season on Chicago's practice squad but was waived ahead of the 2025 campaign.

Reed spent training camp with the Ravens but was waived as part of the team's final roster cuts. Though he's been signed to the practice squad, he may be added to the active roster as a reserve quarterback behind Fagnano if Huntley is unable to go.
