The Baltimore Ravens had to try something. The sky may be falling with injuries to Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley, but the team is still 4-4. It's too early to give up on the season.
That something happened Wednesday. Baltimore reportedly struck a deal with the Arizona Cardinals for Jacoby Brissett. The trade is still being finalized, according to Adam Schefter, so it won't leave enough time for Brissett to play Thursday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. But barring a change, the Ravens have their answer at quarterback for the rest of the season.
And oddsmakers are unmoved.
As much of an upgrade as Brissett would seem to be over the undrafted rookie, Joe Fagnano, who's set to start Thursday, it hasn't inspired confidence in the Ravens' ability
to keep up in the AFC. Their odds at BetMGM to win the North remain last at +1600, even as they sit just two games out of first place. And their +650 odds to make the playoffs shortened only slightly from +700 before the deal -- still much longer than +400 before Huntley was ruled out for the season.

The obvious positive here is how much Brissett may save Zay Flowers' fantasy production. But oddsmakers are shutting down any thoughts of him keeping Baltimore afloat in the playoff picture until Lamar Jackson can potentially return. The team's +20000 odds to win the Super Bowl didn't move the slightest after the deal.
