San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Mike Evans is questionable to play Sunday against the Denver Broncos with the rib injury he suffered in last week's win over the Cardinals.
Evans was able to log a limited practice Friday after missing the previous two days and told reporters he plans to give it his best to play. "If the injury isn't unbearable and you can't play through it, then I won't play. But if there's something I can play through, I'm going to be there for my team as best I can," Evans said.
There are no further updates as of early Sunday morning, which isn't surprising considering Kyle Shanahan called Evans a game-time decision. But from his comments earlier in the week, it sounds like Evans intends to give it a try.
Mike Evans fantasy advice. Who should I start?
Evans returned last
week after suffering the injury and called it "brutal" to play through. Considering the combination of that pain with a tough Denver secondary, Evans may not be the best option this week. Especially with the potential for him to be matched up against Patrick Surtain II.
If Evans can't go, Deebo Samuel and Brandin Cooks are the only other players on the team's receiver depth chart with potential fantasy value.
