No one was sure what to expect from Patrick Mahomes in his first game since undergoing knee surgery. One bettor used that uncertainty to cash in on the long-shot odds of Mahomes scoring the first touchdown Monday night.
With $100 riding on Mahomes to score first, X user Gavin McHugh posted a video of his live reaction to Mahomes' 15-yard run to put the Kansas City Chiefs up 7-0 over the Broncos. But it wasn't without drama. The touchdown came after Mahomes ran for a five-yard score the previous play but had it called back by a holding penalty.
Deflated by the penalty, McHugh's anguish was quickly turned into elation the next play, as he came out of his shirt and hugged his buddy. Mahomes reacted to the video on X with a few crying laughing emojis.
