Giada De Laurentiis' time on Dancing with the Stars has come to an end. The celebrity chef got eliminated after her Week 2 salsa to Bella Ciao by Becky G, scoring a mere 12 out of 30 to tie with Guillermo Rodriguez for lowest in the field.
The judges didn't mince words with De Laurentiis, with Carrie Ann Inaba describing her performance as "shaky." Still, De Laurentiis is walking away with a vital lesson learned.
"I'm taking away some really good lessons about myself that I really need to feel my feet on the ground and enjoy the moment that I'm in rather than always going to the next step, which I something I was struggling with," De Laurentiis said. "And Alan (Bersten) kept saying, 'Just deal with this,' and I'd keep asking him, 'What's the next part
of the dance?' So that's something I could see very clearly, and now I know, hey, that's what I had to take away from this show. I had to do this show for Alan to shake it into me that you need to be present, right now. Forget what's happening next, even two minutes from now, it's right now. That's all we have."
It was a sweet moment from De Laurentiis and Bersten after video showed they clashed during training for Week 2. Clearly, Bersten's wisdom has sunk in now.
Dancing with the Stars resumes next Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
