In an up-and-down performance, the contender Baltimore Ravens
managed to gut out a 24-18 win over the rebuilding Tennessee Titans on Sunday. That outcome was all the more important given that MVP-caliber quarterback Lamar Jackson had to leave the matchup in the third quarter with an ankle injury. What was scary for the Ravens in the immediate aftermath was wondering whether Jackson's injury was serious and whether it would cause him to miss a lot of time moving forward. The Ravens, like with any star quarterback, lean on Jackson to do so much of the heavy lifting for their offense. Any extended absence would be a crisis for Baltimore. Fortunately, head coach Jesse Minter shared a promising update on Jackson's status after the game. Minter claimed
that there was discussion about putting Jackson back in the game while backup quarterback Tyler Huntley tried to take the win home.
Ultimately, the Ravens decided to be cautious rather than risking Jackson exacerbating his injury in a Week 4 game. If this were a postseason setting or a big game against a fellow AFC contender, it likely would've been a different conversation.

Of course, this doesn't mean that Jackson won't miss any time. Depending on the extent of Jackson's injury, I wouldn't be shocked to see the Ravens hold Jackson out for their Week 5 tilt with the Atlanta Falcons, just to be safe. Baltimore is undoubtedly breathing a sigh of relief, though, that Jackson will ultimately be OK.
