During a podcast appearance alongside brothers Jason and Travis Kelce on Friday morning, guest Tom Cruise dove into an explanation of a film format.
Cruise is starring and producing the upcoming film Digger
directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu. The filmmaker is also known for back-to-back Academy Award best director wins for Birdman (2014) and The Revenant (2015). This is his first movie since the Netflix distributed Bardo in 2022.Iñárritu previously used 35mm film in his early work and digital large-format film in later work. For this film, Iñárritu is switching to an entirely new format. While they also considered using 65mm film for this project, the filmmakers eventually settled on 35mm using VistaVision equipped with Leitz Cine ELSIE lenses.

Cruise was particularly excited to share this update while on New Heights and the reaction from the Kansas City Chiefs tight end did not disappoint.
After providing detailed and thorough insight about the "clarity" and "richness" of the frame, Kelce gave Cruise a perfect 3-word response on why this composition fit the tone of the film: "Hell yeah, it did."
Kelce, who has his own on-camera acting experience from Happy Gilmore 2 as well as TV's Moonbase 8 and Grotesquerie, seemed earnestly locked in when Cruise spoke so passionately.
