Jay-Z's company, Roc Nation, has been in charge of picking the Super Bowl halftime show for some time now. And if one report is true, he's choosing a music legend with a huge catalogue to choose from for Super Bowl 61 in 2027: Himself.
Per Puck: "That’s according to multiple sources, who say the pick has long felt inevitable and more compelling than Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber, both of whom were considered for SBLXI."
The publication adds that the rapper "could formally announce the Super Bowl gig this weekend, when he plays the first of two nearly sold-out shows at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles."
We'll see if that's the case. It would be an awesome show if it really is Jay-Z. And would a certain spouse of his guest star?
Would Beyonce join Jay-Z at the Super Bowl halftime show?
No word on that in Puck's
report, but you'd have to think the odds are high for Jay-Z's wife to do Crazy in Love and/or '03 Bonnie & Clyde with Jay-Z. Beyonce has already done the halftime show back in 2013 and guested in 2016.
