The Houston Texans' biggest offensive playmaker is dealing with an injury ahead of Week 2. Nico Collins, who just caught seven passes for 75 yards and a touchdown against the Buffalo Bills, hurt his hamstring during practice Wednesday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
While Collins' injury isn't believed to be serious, his status for Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals is reportedly "in jeopardy." It's a tough blow for an already thin receiving corps.
Jayden Higgins was expected to take a second-year leap opposite Collins before tearing his ACL in August. Houston traded for New England Patriots deep threat Kayshon Boutte after Higgins' injury, and he played nearly half the Texans' snaps in their season opener. Tank Dell is still working
his way back from a horrific leg injury he suffered in 2024.
This isn't Collins' first hamstring injury. He suffered a Grade 2 hamstring strain in 2024, resulting in an injured reserve stint. The Michigan product still managed to top 1,000 receiving yards despite missing five games.
Here's who C.J. Stroud will be throwing to if Collins can't suit up Sunday.
