The Tennessee Titans just traded away their best player in defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons to the Chicago Bears on Thursday. Is a fire sale brewing in Music City?
The Titans have little chance of making a playoff rally in the second half of the season, putting the square focus on 2027 for a rebound. Who else might the team trade away?
When you look at Tennessee's roster, there are some solid veteran pieces that might attract attention on the trade market. Simmons was the blockbuster move, but others could follow before the Nov. 10 trade deadline.
Let's look at five players who could be on their way out in Nashville.
RB Tony Pollard
Pollard is Tennessee's lead running back, rushing for 478 yards and four touchdowns so far this season. He's also on an expiring contract.
If you're looking for the most likely Titan to be traded next, he's your guy. A team that needs more pop in the run game for a playoff push could add Pollrad
WR Calvin Ridley
Ridley's contract could make a trade difficult to process, but he's barely being used in the Tennessee offense and feels very much like postseason cut. If the Titans could trade him now, we imagine they'd do so. Any team needing wide receiver help could see what the accomplished Ridley has left in the tank.
CB Alontae Taylor
After signing a big deal with the Titans in the offseason, Taylor has struggled to make much of an impact on the field. He was even a healthy scratch recently. If the Titans want to recoup their losses on this signing, a trade makes sense. Taylor is still plenty talented to rebound in Nashville or elsewhere.
OLB Jermaine Johnson II
Johnson came over to the Titans in the offseason from the New York Jets, but he's a free agent after this season and no lock to stay with the franchise. A trade to a playoff team needing edge help makes a lot of sense.
DE John Franklin-Myers
Franklin-Myers is a reliable veteran defensive lineman who signed with the Titans in the offseason. Trading him and Simmons both would be a huge blow to the Tennessee defensive front, but he could help a number of teams.
