Indiana Fever coach Stephanie White threw cold water on the supposed controversy between her and Caitlin Clark after Sunday's Game 1 loss to the Las Vegas Aces.
After some fans speculated that Clark and White called each other out after the WNBA playoff loss, White downplayed the social media element of it all and tried to provide real nuance to the situation.
"I think we both understand that social media noise doesn't really have anything to do with what we do," White told reporters before Tuesday's pivotal Game 2 of the first round at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, per SI's Robin Lundberg. "The biggest thing for us is staying focused on our team and staying focused on what we can do to get better.
"I mean, some of the offensive stuff wasn't working,
and sometimes, you've got to get knocked in the mouth to figure things out. So, all of those things can be true, and all of those things can be true without there being a controversy."
