The Baltimore Ravens' quarterback situation has reached DEFCON 1. Both Lamar Jackson and Tyler "Snoop" Huntley have hit injured reserve, thrusting third-stringer Joe Fagnano into starting duties Thursday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Fagnano had a fine career at UConn, but he's a rookie undrafted free agent whose physical limitations were evident in his first game action against the Buffalo Bills
.The Ravens could wave the white flag on the season and get a high draft pick to prepare for 2027. But they also have one intriguing option if contending in 2026 is important to first-year coach Jesse Minter.
Should Ravens trade for Anthony Richardson?
Richardson, the fourth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, is the exact type of reclamation project Baltimore should consider. He's fallen out
of favor with Indianapolis Colts coach Shane Steichen, who's starting struggling veteran Daniel Jones until both of them likely lose their jobs, but is only 24 and has flashed excellence when healthy.
Sure, injuries and maturity have been a concern for Richardson, but it probably wouldn't take much to acquire him at this point. And if he's not in a fit in Baltimore, the team can move on since he's hitting unrestricted free agency.
Huntley has long been a fitting Ravens backup QB because he plays a mobile style like Lamar Jackson. Richardson fits the bill as well, plus he's got an absolute cannon along with his wheels.

The trade deadline is next Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET. We'll see if Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta has a big move up his sleeve by then.
