The Tampa Bay Rays went into Tuesday's Game 4 down 3-0 in the World Series to the Brewers. And when Cooper Pratt gave Milwaukee the lead with his 12th-inning, go-ahead home run, things were looking awfully bleak for the Rays.
Well, the Tropicana Field scoreboard operator may have pulled the biggest of reverse jinxes in the moment.
As Pratt was rounding the bases to the jubilation of the Brewers dugout and a solid away fan turnout, footage showed the stadium scoreboard display the World Series champions graphic for the Brewers. Of course, Milwaukee didn't win in that moment as the visiting team. And the Brewers would go on to lose Game 4 when the Rays responded with a two-run bottom half of the inning.
Ah found it! @RaysBaseball accidentally flashes
@Brewers as #WorldSeries Champs a little prematurely after top 12th Pratt HR. Good thing we had our fair ups. #RaysUp https://t.co/ENVeDRhpw4 pic.twitter.com/x57tl9ZdWl

The graphic was quickly pulled when the error was realized. But it was awfully reminiscent of the Mets congratulating the Red Sox on the 1986 World Series title at Shea Stadium before the Mets famously came back to win the series.
If the Rays can come back from down 3-0, that scoreboard error will go down in baseball lore. That's for sure.
