It's been a while since the Los Angeles Dodgers had something to be sad about. They've won back-to-back World Series and entered the 2026 postseason a massive favorite after landing two-time Cy Young winer Tarik Skubal at the trade deadline.
Oh, how fast the tables turn. The Milwaukee Brewers
swept the Dodgers in the National League Championship Series, emphatically erasing any hopes of a three-peat in Los Angeles.Third baseman Max Muncy admitted this exit hit extra hard considering how well the Dodgers have played in recent years.
"We haven't had to do this in several years, and so you almost kind of forget how bad this sucks," Muncy said. "It meant so much to us, and we fell short. … For three years straight we left it all out there. The train
finally ran out of steam, I guess. It just sucks."
Milwaukee advanced to play either the Cleveland Guardians or the Tampa Bay Rays in the World Series.
