Sometimes it's easy to forget that every sports mascot has a regular human person underneath the ridiculous costume. And when they're not in front of a crowd, they're bound to the regularities of typical non-mascot society.
That doesn't make the post-World Series footage from the Tropicana Field tunnel any less hilarious, though.
As the Brewers were making their way to the visiting clubhouse to continue their World Series celebration, Tropicana Field security had to hold up pedestrian traffic in the stadium tunnel. Among those waiting for the Brewers to go by was none other than Rays mascot DJ Kitty. Like, what an odd scene.
This clip of the Rays mascot having to watch the World Series trophy pass by in the way to the Brewer’s locker room before
being allowed to pass is one of the most comically bizarre things I’ve ever seen on a sports broadcast. pic.twitter.com/Io5zwpXQ4M

The pan over to DJ Kitty was peak cinema.
Somewhat unrelated, but it needs to be said nonetheless: The Rays apparently have three (?!?) mascots. There's a Phillie Phanatic-adjacent creature named Raymond, a stingray named Stinger and then a cat named DJ Kitty.
That's way too many mascots, Rays.
