There's a new Spider-Man movie releasing this week, but that hasn't stopped actor Tom Holland from continuing to think about the future of his character. Spider-Man: Brand New Day
is the fourth solo film for Holland as Peter Parker and the seventh overall in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While nothing has been announced officially, it's possible that this most recent movie kicks off another Spidey trilogy."I will do it for as long as they have me," Holland said of playing Spider-Man in a red carpet interview with The Hollywood Reporter for Brand New Day. But that doesn't mean he isn't planning for when the time comes to pass along the role. In a recent interview with Josh Horowitz, Holland went into detail about the long-time discussions around
passing the mantle of Spider-Man in the future.
"There's a whole plan that we have been working on for, I would say since we finished Spider-Man: No Way Home," Holland said in the interview. "It's like laid out, it's gonna change for sure, but I have a really clear vision to the passing on of the baton, and I think it's really exciting."
The prevailing theory is that Miles Morales will be introduced into the MCU to take over after Peter Parker seeing as his uncle -- Aaron Davis, portrayed by Donald Glover -- was a character in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
"I know I get really excited when we have these meetings and chat about it. But that is the thing that I want to do most in this character," Holland explained.
We'll just have to wait and see how it all plays out.
