Giannis Antetokounmpo's time with the Milwaukee Bucks came to an end after 13 seasons, as he's beginning a new chapter with the Miami Heat. That doesn't mean he's done winning titles with Milwaukee.
With the Milwaukee Brewers defeating the back-to-back reigning World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series, they're now four wins away from their first Commissioner's Trophy. Antetokounmpo will be an under-the-radar part of their journey.
Antetokounmpo purchased an ownership stake in the Brewers in August 2021, weeks after he led the Bucks to their second NBA championship in franchise history. Now, as he begins his first season away from Milwaukee after a blockbuster offseason trade, Antetokounmpo's investment
in the city could be paying off.
"Milwaukee made me who I am today," Antetokounmpo said when he joined the Brewers' ownership group. "It made me a better person. This is basically my home. I've become a father here. I've become a leader here. I've become a champion here, and I want to be involved.
"I want to be involved in the community as much as possible. I know Milwaukee invested a lot in me, and I want to invest a lot of me back into the city of Milwaukee."
The World Series begins next Friday, the same night Giannis and the Heat host the Detroit Pistons.
