An Alaskan brown bear was featured on video this week relaxing on its back as a flock of noisy birds passed overhead.
In the accompanying footage, courtesy of J Bear Tours in Homer, the bear is either waving at the avian commuters or using its paws and arms for balance.
J Bear Tours asked followers via Instagram: "Waving at birds or getting a back scratch?"

One follower offered the perfect response: "Why not both?"
If it was merely a back scratch, it’s evident in the footage that the bear is at least gazing toward the birds, acknowledging their presence.
Regardless, the robust bear appears to be enjoying a moment of quality time in the Alaskan summer.
