While the Emmy Awards going on in Los Angeles on Monday night to honor the best of television, one of the biggest movie stars in Hollywood was in Kansas City. Tom Cruise made the trip to the first Monday Night Football of the 2026 season, taking in the game between the Denver Broncos and the Kansas City Chiefs alongside the biggest pop stars on the planet.
Near the end of the first quarter, the ESPN cameras found Cruise in deep conversation with singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. The The Life of a Showgirl singer got married to Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce over the summer, and Kelce kicked off his 14th NFL season on Monday night.
With the dedication that both the Top Gun: Maverick star and Swift put into their crafts, it's unsurprising that the duo
had a lot to discuss.

Even though Swift didn't make an appearance in person at the Emmy Awards — her Eras Tour movie was nominated for five creative Emmys — she did do a pre-taped segment with host Mariska Hargitay. Swift sat courtside with the Law & Order: SVU actress during the Knicks Finals run, and the singer has a cat named after her Olivia Benson character.
