Buzz around Tyreek Hill returning to the NFL keeps growing after agent Drew Rosenhaus announced earlier this month a deal was looming. Rosenhaus detailed what exactly Hill is looking for during a recent interview.
Hill, who suffered a major knee injury just over 12 months ago, is seeking four key elements from his next team.
"When you sign with a team midseason, you'd like to go to a winner," Rosenhaus said. "No. 2, as a wide receiver, you'd like to go to a team that needs a wide receiver. No. 3, you'd like to go to a team that has a pretty good quarterback.
"And No. 4, Tyreek's going to bring a lot of impact, we've got to get a fair contract. And that's always complex to negotiate in the middle of the season."
As for a timeline, Rosenhaus emphasized
a deal could materialize "any time." Rosenhaus said on Oct. 5 he expected Hill to sign "over the next few days."
Hill's legal situation could complicate his return to the field, however.
Will Tyreek Hill be suspended?
It's unclear at this time.
Hill was found liable Tuesday for two counts of battery in a civil trial after claims from his estranged wife, Lakeeta Vaccaro Hill. Vaccaro will receive $500,000 in compensatory damages.
The NFL could suspend Hill under its personal conduct policy, which doesn't require criminal charges to discipline players. Hill pleaded guilty to assault and battery of his then-pregnant girlfriend in 2015, prior to the Kansas City Chiefs drafting him, and the personal conduct policy considers “similar misconduct before joining the NFL.”
What teams could sign Tyreek Hill?
The Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers areamong the teams who could benefit from Hill's services.
Is Tyreek Hill healthy?
Rosenhaus said that while Hill is not 100% quite yet, "'He's close, and he'll get there really soon."
