Katie Zacharia -- the new White House Press Secretary who was hired less than a week ago -- is out after just five days, per USA TODAY. It's not a huge surprise given that her initial press briefing was heavily criticized, and she faced questions about saying that she was a lawyer despite the fact that she didn't pass the bar exam.
And if you're wondering why everyone is making a joke about how she didn't last a "full Scaramucci," you've come to the right place. Anthony Scaramucci became famous in 2017 when he lasted just 11 days as White House communications director. On the internet, that length of time became a measurement that was a running joke.
So if Zacharia lasted just five days to his 11, now you know why the same joke is being made:
Anthony Scaramucci himself tweeted about Zacharia being fired
Records are made to be broken. But I take no pleasure in other people's pain. https://t.co/kDIRWj9Rta
