Baker Mayfield's confidence in his alma mater backfired Saturday when his Oklahoma Sooners suffered an upset loss to Michigan and left him on the losing end of a bet with his head coach.
Mayfield paid his debt to Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles during his media availability on Wednesday, showing up in the No. 18 Michigan jersey of Troy Bowles, Todd's son, with cut-off sleeves. To finish the gag, Bowles made sure to sing the Michigan fight song as Mayfield stepped to the podium for questions.
"That hurts. That hurts real bad," Mayfield said. "It's been a rough couple days."

That was a rough loss for the Sooners, whose ranking fell from No. 11 to 24.
