Week 9 has seen its share of quarterbacks trying to tough out injuries from the sidelines. Patrick Mahomes astonishingly was fine after seemingly injuring his throwing arm. Giants quarterback J.J. McCarthy, however, was not.
He tried to make it work, though.
The Giants quarterback left Sunday's game against the Eagles after taking a helmet to the shoulder from linebacker Zack Braun in the second half. McCarthy was attended to by the training staff, and he did want to see if he could play through that pain. It only took once practice throw from the sidelines to get that answer.
Just check out McCarthy's reaction.

Yeah, so much for that. This was the hit that knocked the former Michigan quarterback out of the game.

McCarthy was eventually ruled out and replaced by Jameis Winston.
