The Los Angeles Rams have been almost as good defensively as we expected coming into the season -- even with Myles Garrett on injured reserve and Aaron Donald in and out the lineup. They rank second in the NFL in fewest yards allowed, they're top-10 in points allowed and they haven't allowed a touchdown to a running back all season.
And yet, those things mean nothing when Josh Allen rolls into town Monday night.
We can expect Matthew Stafford and the Rams to put up points on a weak Buffalo Bills defense in this Week 5 matchup. But don't be surprised if the Bills respond and turn this game into a shootout between the last two MVPs. Below are my favorite anytime touchdown scorer bets for the game.
Puka Nacua (-125)
Nacua wasted no time assuming his role as Stafford's
top target in his return from injury last week, catching nine of 12 targets for 125 and taking a carry into the end zone for his first score of the season. And that was against an Eagles defense much tougher than this Buffalo unit he's about to face.
Davante Adams (+100)
Did I mention the Bills defense is bad? And they've been especially bad against the pass, which is why I feel good taking two Rams receivers. Like the Rams, Buffalo has allowed six touchdowns to receivers this year, but they've done it while giving up over 300 more yards than LA. Nacua and Adams have a chance to feast Monday night.
Josh Allen (-125)
As of the time I'm writing this, DJ Moore's status is in the air. And even if he plays, he won't be 100 percent. So as much as I'd like to add a Buffalo receiver to the two Rams I picked above, I don't feel confident saying which one might find the end zone. What I do feel confident in is Allen figuring out a way to put points up, even if that means doing it himself.
