The Seattle Seahawks have done more than just manage to stay afloat following Sam Darnold's Week 1 glute injury. With Drew Lock taking over under center, the Seahawks made a comeback to defeat the New England Patriots and rolled to a 31-7 win over the Arizona Cardinals. Now, they could enter a Week 3 matchup with the Washington Commanders with Darnold back under center.
After head coach Mike Macdonald said Darnold was on "a good track" to play this week, as ESPN reported, the quarterback spoke with the media on Thursday and doubled down on the possibility of his return. When asked about playing in Week 3, Darnold said he's "really striving" for it, but also doesn't want to "jinx" it.
"I'm really striving for that. But again, like I said, I'm just
taking it day by day. [I] also don't want to jinx anything," Darnold said.
Note: Darnold's specific comments above begin around the 11:25 mark.

There's little doubt that Drew Lock has settled in nicely for the Seahawks in Darnold's absence, helping to solidify the backup quarterback position, another positive from that unexpected two-game stretch. In Week 2, Lock completed 19-of-26 passes for 235 yards and three touchdowns.
The running game was also impressive for Seattle, with Emanuel Wilson leading the way against the Cardinals with 21 carries for 92 yards, and Jadarian Price tallying 52 yards on 13 attempts.
All in all, the Seahawks look every bit like the Super Bowl team we saw last season, and that's just one reason why they're ranked No. 1 in the latest FTW power rankings.
