For the second week in a row, the Oregon Ducks will be without starting quarterback Dante Moore as they welcome Nebraska to Eugene in Week 7.
Dylan Raiola, who struggled mightily while starting in a loss to UCLA last week, will not get the nod against his former team. Instead, the Ducks will turn to senior quarterback Brock Thomas on Saturday night.
Moore was ruled out as he continues to recover from a concussion, which he suffered on Sept. 26 during the Ducks' win over USC. USC linebacker Desman Stephens II laid a violent hit on Moore, which resulted in an ejection and a one-game suspension.
Now, Moore's potential return date is unclear. He practiced for the second week in a row, which included throwing passes per coach Dan Lanning, but it seems
he has not yet been cleared to return to game action.
It seems Oregon is (understandably) playing it safe with its second-year starting quarterback, who is a possible first-round NFL draft pick. However, that leaves his status for the Ducks' Week 8 road trip against Illinois very much up in the air.
