It's been a terrible start to the 2026 NFL -- and fantasy football -- season when it comes to quarterback health. Just two weeks in, and you've got injuries to Jaxson Dart, Caleb Williams, Sam Darnoldand Kyler Murray. And while it sounds like Murray might be back this week, you still need to fill in the gaps in your lineup.
Here's where this list comes in: If you're desperate for a quarterback in fantasy football and have the chance to pick one off waivers to help you out, we have you covered. Here are five names to pick up if they're available in your league:
Bryce Young, Carolina Panthers
It seems like it's all clicking for the former first overall pick, and maybe it's thanks to his two solid wideouts in Tetairoa McMillan and Jalen Coker. That's two games with three TDs in each
contest and he's got the Browns this week.
Tyler Shough, New Orleans Saints
The numbers indicate he's unrostered more than he should be. What more do you need here? He's got a great receiving corps and he can provide points with his legs (23 yards and a score on the ground last week).
Sam Darnold, Seattle Seahawks
If someone dropped him in your league, you could grab the Super Bowl winner and hope that he just throws to Jaxon Smith-Njigba 80 times a game.
Marcus Mariota, Washington Commanders
Here's the thing: He's not great and he does face the Seahawks this week (yikes). But we do know he can run a lot and occasionally complete passes to a group that includes Terry McLaurin and Stefon Diggs. That's worth something.
Michael Penix Jr., Atlanta Falcons
We know he's got a ways to go. What we also know is that he has a bunch of Pro Bowl-level talent to complete passes to with Drake London, Kyle Pitts and Bijan Robinson all factoring into the passing game. That helps.
