The new season of Saturday Night Live premiered, ushering in the 52nd year of the sketch comedy show. New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson took on the hosting responsibilities for the first time, with popular girl group KATSEYE performing as the musical guest.
The cold open kicked things off, with Golden Globe winner Ramy Youssef (Ramy) starring as New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani. The mayor is paid a visit at the Gracie Mansion by President Donald Trump -- played once again by James Austin Johnson -- with Trump continually singing his praises.
"Of course, for some reason that no one can figure out," Johnson's Trump said, "I really, really like you."
The duo is also paid a visit by Natalie Harp, one of President Trump's aides and the White House's Appointments
Secretary. This is the first appearance of Harp on Saturday Night Live, with Ashley Padilla portraying the aide.
Next week, actress Dakota Johnson (Verity) hosts the show with musical guest Turnstile.
