Every official who works a football game knows that there's potential for a collision on any given play. It's part of their job to avoid getting inadvertently caught in the middle of a play. But it happens sometimes, and it's never intentional.
That's what made referee Adrian Hill's reaction to being knocked over so odd on Sunday.
Hill was working the Week 4 matchup between the Dolphins and Vikings when linebacker Eric Wilson was blocked into Hill. It was a total accident, and Wilson wasn't even the one who initiated the contact with the official. But as Wilson went to help Hill up from the turf, Wilson was greeted with a shockingly hostile response.

Hill got to his feel and started shouting at Wilson, and the Vikings linebacker was stunned to be yelled at. He even appeared to explain to Hill that he wasn't the one to start the collision. Again, it was the shove from Ollie Gordon II that forced him into the ref.
Thankfully, Hill kept the penalty flag in his pocket and didn't call Wilson for illegal contact with an official. That just would have made the sequence even sillier.
