The Oklahoma City Thunder were ready to close out a win over the L.A. Clippers at home on Sunday night with everyone healthy and firing on all cylinders. The latter idea went out the window when Jalen Williams went down very awkwardly on a late dunk attempt.
It is unclear at the time of this writing exactly what Williams broke and/or tore without official confirmation from the Thunder, but the visual of a gruesome ankle injury was obvious to both the Thunder and Clippers players on the court, who couldn't bear to watch as one of their NBA brothers was lying down in excruciating pain.
Williams would obviously have to be stretchered off in front of a horrified Thunder home crowd and both benches. An injury like this is assuredly the last thing anyone
wants to see in a basketball game, so we will not link the actual video of the injury itself here. We're sure you can find it easily on the internet yourself, so here is a clip of Williams as he was carted off:

It's probably safe to say that Williams will be out for a good while, at a minimum. The full extent and timeline will not be known until the Thunder share their official evaluation of his injury. For now, here's hoping this young man keeps his spirits up in a tough moment and has a complication-free recovery from the scary moment.
