In the first year of his sterling, extended 13-year NFL career, Mike Evans isn't playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The veteran playmaker is actually making his hay with the San Francisco 49ers as the perennial Pro Bowler tries to chase one more Super Bowl championship before finally hanging up his shoulder pads. So far, so good on that front, as the 49ers have gotten off to a dominant 2-0 start with a +42-point differential. Evans hasn't been a star by his high standards, but he's been a valuable, positive contributor in an offense with a lot of mouths to feed.
That's what made Evans' status, who has been dealing with a hip injury, for San Francisco's Week 3 matchup with the Arizona Cardinals so interesting. Fortunately, both Evans and the 49ers
had good news.
Evans will, in fact, play against the Cardinals, which is a nice development for the 49ers. There's also no word on whether he will be limited, so he should presumably be ready for a full workload of targets (for you fantasy football managers out there).

Evans has nine catches on 10 targets for 103 yards and a touchdown in two games so far this season. At the time of this writing, he is not on pace for a 1,000-yard campaign, given his past history of consistency. Nonetheless, he clearly remains a viable playmaker and piece of a good 49ers offense that could certainly use him.
