The Inside the NBA crew gave longtime host Ernie Johnson a heartwarming tribute after he announced his upcoming retirement from the program after the 2026-27 season.
Johnson's pending exit from the program is seismic; he is so engrained into the identity and personality of the show. It's just hard to imagine anybody replacing him; well, nobody can replace him.
Just to even fill those shoes... so daunting. You could tell how much the Inside the NBA crew reveres him as they discussed the day's big news. Outside of just being wonderful television, this is an incredibly moving segment.

Man, we're going to miss Johnson on this
show. Thankfully, he's not retiring from all broadcasting, but the end of an era is nigh.
Who would replace him?
We're not sure yet.
