The NFL is officially back on, er ... Wednesday night? That's extremely weird, right? Whatever, let's go with it and try this again.
The NFL is back on Wednesday night with the traditional season opener featuring the reigning Super Bowl champion — in this case, the Seattle Seahawks — hosting their Super Bowl 60 banner night. In a treat (and an unofficial redo of an absolute dud of a game), they are matching up with the New England Patriots in a rematch of February's fateful pro football championship game. It's a great appetizer for what should be a wonderful rest of Week 1 this Sunday.

With the game being broadcast by NBC, the usual duo of play-by-play announcer Mike Tirico and color commentator Cris Collinsworth will be on the call for Seahawks-Patriots. Here's hoping the opening matchup of the 2026 NFL season is a lot more entertaining than the last game of the 2025 NFL season.
