Gregg Popovich has remarried. Eight years after the death of his longtime wife Erin Popovich, the 77-year-old coaching legend has tied the knot again with Mary Barth Budenholzer, according to TMZ.
If the name sounds familiar, it's because Mary is the ex-wife of former NBA coach Mike Budenholzer. Popovich and Budenholzer won four NBA championships together in San Antonio, with the latter working his way up from video coordinator to lead assistant before becoming the Atlanta Hawks' coach in 2013.

Who is Mary Barth Budenholzer?
Mary is a 61-year-old from Corpus Christi, Texas. She and Mike had four children together: William Vincent, Savoia Elizabeth, Hanna Louise and John Bent. The pair divorced
in 2016. Mary and Popovich, who lost his wife in 2018 to an illness, reportedly got close afterward, and last year were seen together at Spurs games.
What is Gregg Popovich doing now?
After stepping down as the Spurs' coach in May 2025, Popovich has transitioned into the team's president of basketball operations. Popovich, who suffered a stroke in November 2024, finished his coaching career with five NBA championships and a record 1,390 regular-season wins.
