Week 1 of the 2026 NFL season is nearly here (!!!!!). And if you play fantasy football, you’re already planning ahead if you've had your draft already. Maybe you have a spot open due to an injury or you're rethinking a player you took.
That’s what we’re here for, a roundup of some of the players you could be targeting ahead of Week 1 in fantasy football.
Some of the names below might be taken already, but if not, there are a bunch of dudes who could change your fantasy fortunes this season. Let’s run through them, in no particular order:
RB George Holani, Seattle Seahawks
Yes, yes, Jadarian Price has the starting job in Seattle mostly to himself... but what if Holani comes in for pass protection a lot and maybe has some goal line work? He's worth rostering in deep leagues.
RB Jonah Coleman, Denver Broncos
I expect
the rookie to be drafted late as a sleeper, but scoop him up if he went undrafted and stash him as we see how J.K. Dobbins does in the starting role.
WR Keenan Allen, Indianapolis Colts
Josh Downs and Tyler Warren will get plenty of work. Alec Pierce will get into the mix even as he recovers from offseason foot surgery. But it feels like Allen could end up with enough short looks from Daniel Jones to be fantasy relevant.
WR Caleb Douglas, Miami Dolphins
If the rookie went undrafted in your league, he could be worth a pickup. He emerged from the preseason listed as a starter on the Dolphins' depth chart. Don't ignore the Miami offense! Someone has to catch the ball.
WR Tre Tucker, Las Vegas Raiders
Who's slotted to catch passes behind Brock Bowers? It could be Tucker and that could mean surprisingly big stats this season.
TE Terrance Ferguson, Los Angeles Rams
Who's the No. 3 receiver behind Puka Nacua and Davante Adams? Could it be the second-year tight end? It's worth finding out.
TE Dalton Schultz, Houston Texans
The Texans have a ton of room for another pass-catcher to step up. How about the seasoned vet?
