T.J. Edwards took on the Philadelphia Eagles last night, the team he played his first four NFL seasons with. The former Philly linebacker is now a Chicago Bear, and on one key play he appeared to use his familiarity to his advantage.
As the Eagles trailed 20-7 in the third quarter, Jalen Hurts and Co. lined up for a 4th and 5 just past midfield. The Monday Night Football broadcast showed Edwards standing by and listening on the Eagles' huddle, then he promptly picked Hurts off to help seal the Bears' 27-7 victory.
The internet seemed convinced Edwards clocked the play call, but the 30-year-old insists his interception was purely instinctual.

"I was like, 'Maybe I'll hear some familiar stuff,'" Edwards told The Athletic's Kevin Fishbain, "and they must have changed language up because I had no idea what they were talking about."
Edwards finished with three tackles and three passes defended. He helped the Bears stifle the Eagles' passing game, as Hurts had only 153 yards and took two sacks.
Panic is beginning to set in for Eagles fans after an unimpressive 2-1 start. Things won't get any easier with the Los Angeles Rams and Jacksonville Jaguars on deck.
