The hit from USC linebacker Desman Stephens II that sent Oregon Ducks QB Dante Moore to the hospital with a concussion was, of course, illegal and dangerous.
But there's some reaction to the way that USC radio called that hit -- they didn't think it was targeting.
"[Moore] ducked into that hit. ... I did not see him put his feet out first. I saw him dive forward," said USC radio play-by-play man Pete Arbogast. "Not a feet-first slide, more of a knee slide. It didn't look like targeting on the replay to us."
That drew the ire of college football fans everywhere who felt it might have been a case of homerism (although they pointed to Shaun Cody's facial reactions as, perhaps, a sign that he didn't agree with the assessment):
