Dancing with the Stars returned for its 35th season Tuesday night, introducing a new cast along with a new structure for Episode 1. For the first time since 2018, a cast member was voted off in the season premiere.
Conner Leavitt, husband of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Whitney Leavitt, had the unfortunate distinction of being the first eliminated this season. He and pro Adele Zaikman performed a salsa to Whoomp! There It Is by Tag Team, and apparently it didn't connect with audiences enough for him to move on.
While it wasn't the result Leavitt was hoping for, he had a classy reaction to his elimination.
"We felt like we were vulnerable," Leavitt said. "We left it all out on the dance floor. Dancing is hard. For anyone who doesn't know, dancing
is hard. To go out there, perform all out and then to get that kind of a disappointing result, it's sad. But I could not be more thrilled to be a part of such a wonderful cast and have such a wonderful partner."
Whitney Leavitt had a much more successful run last season, advancing to the semifinals before a controversial elimination. Now, fans of the Leavitts can catch them on Season 5 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, which will be their last on the show.
